Improvement of water supply management through GIS-based monitoring and control system for water loss reduction

As a small island developing state, Grenada is one of the world’s most at-risk countries for climate change. The island experienced two major drought events in 2010 and 2012 which significantly affected the water supply and decreased during the peak time up to 75% of normal production of certain water supply systems in Grenada. Grenada seeks to improve its limited technical resources in regard to its capacities for the establishment of a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) -based monitoring and control system for water loss reduction and leakage detection with the aim to efficiently and effectively reduce the currently high levels of Non Revenue Water (NRW). 배경
군소도서국인 그레나다(Grenada)는 세계에서 가장 기후변화에 취약한 국가이다. 그레나다는 2010년과 2012년에 상당한 가뭄을 경험하여 수자원이 평소 대비 75%로 감축되었다. 그레나다는 지리학적 정보 시스템(Geographical Information System: GIS) 기반 모니터리 및 통제 시스템의 구축 역량과 관련하여 제한적 기술 자원을 제고하여 수자원 손실 및 유출을 탐지하여 무수수량(Non Revenue Water : NRW)의 높은 비율을 효과적이고 효율적으로 낮추고자 한다.
