The Technology Executive Committee is proud to announce a new publication focusing on gaps, needs, challenges and enabling measures to develop and enhance countries endogenous capacities and technologies. This report builds on previous report that promotes the common understanding of the concept of endogenous capacities and technologies (see below). It is produced in response to Parties guidance through technology framework, aimed to assist countries in enhancing an enabling environment to promote endogenous and gender responsive technologies for mitigation and adaptation actions. The report highlights that a wide range of strategies can be used to create enabling environments for enhancing countries’ capacities to develop endogenous technologies, including collaboration, financing and building technical skills. The work has also revealed that engagement by multiple stakeholders is crucial to building endogenous capacities. Parties, stakeholders, other constituted bodies and processes under the UNFCCC, including on capacity-building, local communities and indigenous people, gender, finance and national reporting, may wish to take into account the conclusions and recommendations arising from this report |
