Title Fiji Submits Long-Term National Climate Plan

UN Climate Change News, 5 March 2019 - Fiji has submitted its long-term climate action plan under the Paris Agreement to the secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Fiji aims to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050 across all sectors of its economy. The details of this and other long-term plans can be accessed here.

In accordance with Article 4, paragraph 19, of the Paris Agreement, all Parties to the UNFCCC should strive to formulate and communicate long-term low greenhouse gas emission development strategies, mindful of Article 2 and taking into account their common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities, in the light of different national circumstances.
