This Technology Transfer Advances Afghanistan's Nationally Determined Contribution to "Identify and mainstream climate change adaptation technologies into the sectoral policies, strategies and development plans, and promotion of regional and international cooperation and coordination for adaptation technology transfer ".
본 기술이전은 아프가니스탄의 국가자발적기여(Nationally Determined Contribution)를 증진시켜 "기후 변화 적응 기술을 부문별 정책, 전략 및 개발 계획으로 구분하고, 적응 기술 이전을 위한 국제적 협력 및 조율을 달성"하고자 한다.
Context
As a mountainous country, with dry lands and frequent droughts, Afghanistan experiences increasing extreme weather that affect the availability of water, threatening the supply of drinking water, as well as crop production, very much dependent on irrigation. Afghanistan has also a good potential for generating renewable energies, such as hydropower, solar and wind energy to contribute to reduce climate change and pave the way for a low-carbon development. The government therefore seeks to identify the appropriate technologies to disseminate in the country to mitigate and adapt to the changing climate.
배경
메마른 땅과 빈번한 가뭄이 발생하는 산간 국가인 아프가니스탄은 수자원의 가용에 영향을 미치는 극단적인 기상을 자주 경험해 식수의 공급 및 관개에 상당히 의존적인 작물 생산을 위협받고 있다. 아프가니스탄은 기후변화를 저감하고 저탄소 개발을 유도할 만한 수력, 태양열 및 풍력과 같은 재생에너지 발전 잠재력이 크다. 정부는 그렇기 때문에 적합한 기술을 파악해 국가가 변화하는 기후를 완화하고 적응하게 하고자 한다.
