Title UN Climate Change Continues NDC Webinar Series in 2019

UN Climate Change News, 18 January 2019 - A central element for implementing the Paris Agreement on climate action are the nationally determined contributions (NDCs) of each Party. NDCs are national climate plans highlighting climate actions, including climate related targets, policies and measures governments aims to implement in response to climate change and as a contribution to global climate action. Central to the NDCs is the concept of national determination.

The NDC webinar series was therefore created as a forum to discuss various aspects of the NDCs. They also allow interactive participation, by giving the opportunity to the audience to interact with the experts engaged as resource persons.

This year, the webinars will focus on the experiences and lessons learned from the Parties on planning and implementation of NDCs. The news and updates on negotiations about NDCs will also be shared during these webinars.

The first webinar in the series will highlight the key outcomes of the recent COP24 negotiations in Katowice, focusing on the information to facilitate clarity, transparency and understanding (iCTU) and accounting of NDCs and on the modalities procedures and guidelines for the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF).

So; save the date, Wednesday 23 January at 14:30 CET (08:30 EST), “Updates from COP24 negotiations relating to NDCs and ETF.” We will be listening to the distinguished co-facilitators and have a chance to ask them questions.
