The 2025 Integrated Guide for Business Greenhouse Gas and Air Pollutant Emission Assessment, also known as Guide 2.0, is an updated version of the 2022 Practical Guide for Business: Air Pollutant Emission Assessment. Launched during London Climate Action Week 2025, this guide helps businesses of all sizes quantify greenhouse gases, short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), air pollutants, and heavy metals throughout their value chains. How can businesses get a complete view of their climate and air pollution emissions?Guide 2.0 offers practical methods and emission factors for creating integrated emissions inventories. This supports mitigation strategies that tackle both climate change and air quality goals. Key updates include the addition of carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), and heavy metals, along with new practical examples and revised chapters. These revisions are based on user feedback and evolving corporate reporting needs, including regulatory changes like the EU’s CSRD. Businesses can use this guide independently or to enhance existing GHG inventory systems, even without prior knowledge of the original guide. This new edition was developed in collaboration with SEI at the University of York, with support from the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Trust Fund, the Clean Air Fund (CAF), and other partners. As climate change and air pollution are pressing global issues, this comprehensive resource fills a significant gap in guidance for the private sector, which contributes to emissions through various operations. |
